Energy Recovery

The energy a room loses from the exhaust air, as a result of the fresh air requirements, represents approximately 50 % of the room heating requirements. The Seresco unit captures nearly 60 % of this exhaust waste heat with its heat recovery loop. By doing so it supplies free heat to warm the cold fresh air intake and can provide generous energy savings to the room and greatly reduce heating costs. Seresco’s energy recovery loop places glycol coils in the outside air intake and in the exhaust airstream. The coils are connected in a counter-flow closed loop piping system. The system comprises an inline fluid cooled pump, an air separator, and in some larger systems a pressure tank and pressure gauge. By circulating a glycol mixture Seresco can extract enough heat from exhaust air stream to preheat the outside air.
